Elections: There are three positions opening up on the executive board this year. Vice president, Treasurer and Secretary. Brenda Webber, Traci Hall and Maureen LaBarbera are all up for re election. Additional board position (Ways and Means) has been open for one year. If you are interested in running for any of these positions, or would like more information, please contact Laurie Phillips.

Message from the President: So this is it. This is the end of the season. The last meet has been recorded. The final ribbons have been collected. I am no longer concerned if goggles are broken or swim caps have torn. No more wet towels strewn about the house. The chlorine smell will eventually fade from my car. I don't have to set my alarm clock for Saturday morning. To all of our amazing parent/family volunteers…thank you. I haven't had the chance to talk to everyone individually, but each one of you impacts the team. You have all seen how every deck job, referee to runner, is vital to a successful meet. We absolutely cannot do it without you. From your sunburns to your sock tans…thank you. This year is especially poignant for me, as I formally state that the 2012 summer season will be my last as president of the Bannister Barracuda swim team. My youngest will age out 2013, so we will still be part of the team and will still help, but it's time for me to step aside and let someone else take the wheel. It's been a joy doing my small part to help this team.

See you at the pool. Green and gold forever.

The Bannister  Barracudas Swim Team offers a recreational competitive program for children age 6 to 18 , from the swimmer new to competitive swimming to skilled swimmers. Members of our team learn the values of sportsmanship and teamwork. Swimming as a part of our team will provide physical, emotional and intellectual skills that will last a lifetime.

In competitive swimming, athletes compete using one of four strokes: freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly. A race using all four strokes consecutively is called the individual medley (IM). Swimmers may also compete as part of relay teams.
